Monica Hart

President

Monica Hart, a founding member of Unity Center of Davis is a Spiritual Marketing Coach and Certified Leadership/Life Coach who leads the Unity Center of Davis Chaplain Program. Over 30 years ago, Monica was deeply inspired by Reverends Phil and Dorothy Pierson’s love, wisdom, and teachings. Reverends Michael and Faith Moran  continued to inspire her to serve on the Spiritual Life Center’s board and as a chaplain. She’s committed to a mindful and spiritual awakening practice through daily meditation, journaling, marathon running, and serving in love on community nonprofit boards. Monica is grateful for her precious family, friends, and colleagues and especially her beloved UCOD family.

Caroline Tollefson

Secretary

Caroline Tollefson has served on our Board of Trustees since spring of 2015. She designs flyers for UCOD events and she maintained our website for several years. Caroline drives in from No. Sacramento because she loves the welcoming people here.  Caroline was born and raised in a Seventh-day Adventist home and schooled in their church schools from 1st grade to college. Then she made a radical shift and spent 10 years in Hindu churches inspired by Yogananda.  In 1993, she found Unity to be “just right” for her, and has been attending Unity churches ever since.  Caroline and her husband, Mark, are very outdoorsy and love to hike and camp with their Golden Retriever.

Kacey Herbst

Trustee

Kacey Herbst first found Christ Unity in Sacramento in 1980. Under the teachings of Phil and Dorothy Pierson she discovered the spiritual understanding and expression she was looking for all her life. Later she worked in the Bay Area and became a lay minister at Unity Church of Walnut Creek under Marj Britt, being active with outreach programs and retreats. After settling in Davis, she found her spiritual home at the Unity Center of Davis. Her career in non-profit has brought her many experiences with volunteers, Boards of Directors, and the importance of being involved in the community. As a wife, mother and grandmother she enjoys all family activities, mystery stories, music, bicycling, cooking, and her backyard bird sanctuary.

Moon Botelho

Vice President

Moon Botelho was guided to Christ Unity of Sacramento in 2004. He was blessed to have been enlightened to the ways and teachings of Unity by Rev. Jim Lee. In 2009, a spiritual shift and awakening led him to UCOD, where love and growth in his soul has blossomed ever since. UCOD is a loving and giving family of like-minded people! Moon is blessed with 2 loving daughters and 4 grandchildren that remind him of what life is all about -- Unity and Family. He is semi-retired and enjoys nature, hiking, music, reading, watching birds and squirrels in the morning and listening to elders' life stories at their nursing home.

John Duffy

Treasurer

John Duffy was guided to Unity by a friend during a time of darkness in the early 1990s, and he is learning to let his light shine. The loving acceptance that John experienced just as he was, from both the congregation and the Unity consciousness of the church itself, was the “nudge” he needed to start on the path of spiritual awakening.

He has been known to say he is blessed and grateful, and it seems appropriate to express that gratefulness to the Unity Center of Davis community as a member of the Board of Trustees. In addition to serving as the Board Secretary, he brings humor and helps hold space during our meetings.

When not in service to Unity Center of Davis, John can be found at a golf course, metal detecting at a park, school or beach, skin or scuba diving in the ocean, playing racquetball, or traveling with his delightful bride Joy and when conditions permit, with their adopted Cairn / Yorkie terrier “Lucky.” Oh, let's not forget crossword puzzles and other assorted brain game challenges to keep an active mind.
